Dr Elaine Storkey
Dr Elaine Storkey (BA, MA, PhD, DD) is a philosopher, sociologist and theologian whose academic posts have included King’s College London, Stirling, Oxford and the Open University, alongside visiting professorships in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. She has written widely on theology, gender, work, safeguarding and violence against women, including Scars Across Humanity and Women in a Patriarchal World. A former President of Tearfund, General Synod member and theological adviser to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Elaine has served on numerous Church of England, ecumenical and charitable boards, and co-founded organisations supporting vulnerable women. She continues to teach, lecture and broadcast, and has received awards including the Abraham Kuyper Prize at Princeton and the Frumentius Award in Addis Ababa.
